BDW ENDOWMENT FUND
The Nydahl Endowment Fund aims at providing stable support to the lay Diamond Way Buddhism of the Karma Kagyu Lineage in countries which are not originally Buddhist. His Holiness 17th Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje is the patron of the Endowment Fund. The Endowment Fund is an independent legal entity with a full capacity for assuming rights and duties and for entering legal relationships under its name. This legal entity operates in the Czech Republic and abroad. To meet its goals, it may co-operate with entities of the same or similar focus in the CR and abroad.


MISSION
The Nydahl Endowment Fund implements its mission particularly by the following:
a) supporting persons who teach the practice and theory within the Karma Kagyu Lineage, or extended meditation retreats for the practice of Tibetan Buddhism in the Diamond Way tradition, or persons translating authentic Buddhist texts;
b) providing scholarships to persons who study the Tibetan language and/or Buddhism at a higher education level, e.g. at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute in New Delhi, or any other university abroad;
c) purchasing, constructing, structurally adapting, maintaining and otherwise supporting real estates which serve the needs of people practising and studying Buddhism (Buddhist centres);
d) supporting Buddhist art, including Buddhist architecture, and Tibetan medicine;
e) supporting charity, social and educational institutions which have originated and whose programmes are in compliance with the goals of the Diamond Way Buddhism of the Karma Kagyu Lineage;
f) supporting projects focused on the Buddhist way of dying and death-related processes (including hospices), and construction and maintenance of Buddhist cemeteries.
