KARMA BERCHEN LING
The Karma Berchen Ling Buddhist Centre is situated in a region called “Black Mountain” near the small town of Yelini in the beautiful Corinthian highlands of Peloponnesus. The centre is located at an altitude of 1,270 meters. Its corner stone was placed in 1987, when Lama Ole Nydahl visited this place with his Greek students. After more than twenty years of preparations, Lama Chogdrup Dorje and Lama Ole Nydahl inaugurated the Kalachakra Stupa there in 2010. This type of stupa is very rare, only five stupas of this kind are around the world. Kalachakra, also called the “Wheel of Time”, is strongly protective and its location helps protect our freedoms in Europe.
Karma Berchen Ling offers many courses with Buddhist teachers of the Diamond Way. Owing to its location in the mountains and far away from civilization, it is also ideal for individual retreats.
The site is overlooking the Corinthian Gulf, only an hour drive away. Accommodation is possible in the centre, but the visitors are advised to learn about the special conditions in advance. More information you can find here.
Thanks to its location and the Kalachakra Stupa, the place offers ideal conditions for meditation it combines the transmission of the spiritual leader of the Diamond Way Buddhism of the Karma Kagyu Lineage – the 17th Karmapa Trinlay Thaye Dorje and the enthusiasm of many local and foreign visitors working on the centre development.
