BRATISLAVA
Bratislava's center has 150 members. It's the largest one out of the 13 centers and groups of Diamond Way Buddhism in Slovakia. On the center’s busiest weekday up to 50 people come for meditation.
We also organize public lectures of lamas of the Karma Kagyu lineage in Bratislava and Slovakia and publish books and a magazine. We organized a Tibetan art exhibition along with the Slovak National Museum in February 2015. The name of exhibition was Space and joy.
After years of searching for the right place for our activity, we managed to buy the building of a former sanatorium on Kyjevská st. in February 2015. As the place was abandoned for many years, our current focus is its reconstruction, in order to start using it as soon as possible and offer its services to the public. The architectural project adjusts the internal layout in a way to gain a large enough space for the meditation room and social space. The public area will be situated on the 1st floor. The second floor will provide a base for people running the center.
We assume that the current reconstruction of the center will suffice for the upcoming 5 to 10 years. Taking the growing trend of newcomers into consideration, we will continue with a big reconstruction project, which will offer a space big enough for a long-term period.
