DIAMOND WAY BUDDHISM CENTRE PRAGUE
GOMPA PRAHA
The purchase of the site of a former factory situated on Na Maninach Lane in Holešovice, has marked the end of a whole decade of looking for suitable premises for the Prague meditation centre. It also means that we have completed the Gompa Praha project, which had been dedicated to searching and buying a building with sufficient facilities for the development and growth of the Prague meditation centre, a place attracting more and more people interested in Diamond Way Buddhism every year. This building is the first one The Nydahl Foundation actually owns; all the previous Prague centres had been rented places. The necessary renovation of the property took place and in 2014, the meditation centre was officially opened. Later in the year it was inaugurated by lama Ole Nydahl and lama Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche. In the new representative area, the public is invited to meet a living transmission of Tibetan Buddhism through lectures, exhibitions and especially thanks to meditation. The renovation of the meditation centre has not been entirely completed and the decoration and the furnishing of the interior are in process, hence continued fundraising, including both one-time and regular donations. Apart from the development of the new place, the money will also be used to redeem the loans that enabled us to buy the premises.
